WOYWW: the blogoversary giveaway edition

First I would like to apologize to Julia, our Queen of the hop (Stamping Ground blog hop, that is) and everyone who is visiting today for the excessive number of photos in this post.

Second I would like to explain I couldn't use the random generator because some people left two messages, especially those who forgot their WOYWW number (like I occasionally do), and those who forgot to mention something. Then there were two people who didn't want to be included in the swap, so I decided to do the next best thing. I typed out all the names, cut them in small bits, put them in a bowl, stirred them up really well, and drew a name. Of course, as I was folding all these names, I thought WHY DIDN'T I JUST DELETE THE EXTRAS? Hindsight is always 20/20. And you can stop laughing anytime, now!

Although you probably can't read it, the winner of the blogoversary is Kathleen of fadedcharmcottage. I have already contacted her and she has let me know the colors of the quiltlet she wants. Sorry. You have to wait till next week to see the quiltlet. I will give you a hint, though. She writes her passion is junk and she is drawn to muted colors that are crusty and worn. My kind of gal!!

However, I can show you what she has already won. And for that, you have to accept the fact my camera sucks!! REALLY SUCKS. Therefore, all the extra photos.

Look closely in the middle of the metal pieces and you might see a cat. Also note the copper beads are new. I did try to include a few new pieces, including the tiny bottles from SkyBluePink and a few items from our local altered art store. However, I fear there is nothing here from Tim Holtz's product line, since I don't buy his products.

I threw in a couple of artsy bus tokens, and the letter K for Kathleen.

That's a tiny elephant standing next to the face. Oh come on!! I know you can see the face (grin).

It is actually a pin, is horribly out of focus, and looks nothing like my cute sidekick who has mysteriously hidden next to an AC vent.

I ended up moving everything upstairs because that is where the rest of the goodies were. There are lots of postcards, a set of never opened collage papers, and a full book (about 80 pages) of sheet music. If you look closely, you will see the rocking horse of the week. This one has never been opened and goes to Kathleen. Fitting, I believe. Under the rocking horse are three pieces of hand painted or dyed fabric.

I love those music flash cards and

those Christmas stencils I bought last autumn, but never used, at the thrift store. I had to look long and hard to find even one puzzle piece, which is peeking out above the rocking horse. And I don't see any of the laminate chips I picked out, either.

There are over 30 flash cards.

And finally, there is some of my handmade paper. I sure hope it's muted enough! And I haven't forgotten the rubber stamps and stamp pad I showed in the giveaway. I already had it packed, along with an envelope of dress maker's patterns, and a few Asian joss papers.

I want to thank each and every one of you who entered my giveaway. I was blown away by the responses you left. After I got home from vacation (holiday), I was able to unfreeze my computer, get back online, and had the chance to read each one. Many touched my heart. Thank you beyond words. And yes, that's what blogging really IS all about.

And thank you Julia for hopefully not deleting my post because it was so long this week. I promise, promise only one, maybe two, photos (and I'll cut out the diatribe) next time.

I enjoyed your post Elizabeth (glad to see you are back online) and my favorite one? The one that says you are NOT giving away Bleubeard (funny!)

Wow Elizabeth, have you left any stash for you to use?? As for those drawers, the neutral cardstock one is already looking a bit tight, but on the plus side I've used bits on every project since I set them up last Thursday, so hopefully they won't get any worse! Hope you have also cooled down a bit out West!

Wow. Either your blog ate my first post - or it is going to make me look REALLY silly for writing you THREE times on the same post!

I wrote to say that I enjoyed all of the pics on your post and am glad to see you back online - but the pic I enjoyed most of all was the one where you confirm you are NOT including Bleubeard in your stash (I thought that was pretty funny!)

Anyway happy WOYWW to you from #15 at http://create-with-joy.com

oh such a lucky girl to win such a haul of treasure, JoZart was similarily generous with me at the weekend - she made me up a 'surprise' stash bag, when I got home I spent two hours putting stuff away and admiring the beautiful trinkets she has so generously given me, tis so lovley to have friends who share their craft stash.

btw - are we on for a trip next year???

Lucky Kathleen and congratulations to her, I'm sure she'll be in Heaven when she receives your genrous stash.
D,D & I really did have the best of times sharing, having lots of laughs and so much crafty time so remember our offer for you to come to England and you could enjoy it all too!
Believe me...I WAS dressed suitably, as my shirt was made of fine linen lawn to keep me from the sun as I'm so fair skinned. I always take that shirt on hols if there's a chance of sun and boy, did I need it there! My skirt was cotton and underneath I only had a little vest. At D's home we often crafted just in a long T shirt and knickers. Even the tiled floor was hot on the terrace! I miss them so much!

Hi Elizabeth, Thanks for visiting! I'm a bit late this week. The snow is not really outside my front door. It's actually about 6 hours drive south west and we are going there in 2 weeks time for some "fun in the snow" ie, skiing! But I would send you some, if I could :)

Hi Elizabeth! the only reason I feel bad about all those photos is because I didn't win what's in it! I love your junk!!! Oh well! You asked if I am going to join Where Bloggers Create. No, I am not! The last time I joined I was so dismayed when I saw the other wonderful spaces and I wanted to remove my entry!! :^) One question- why doesn't your email work? Patsy from

Sorry I am late this week and thanks for the good wishes and your sensible ideas for me to take on board. Hugs, Neet #47 xx
