WOYWW 148: Short and sweet

Last week Julia our link goddess, asked us to keep our posts short. Since I'm usually a bit windy, I didn't need to be told twice (grin). On my sewing machine/cutting table is a small art quilt I am finishing for my friend's birthday which is tomorrow (Wednesday). Nothing like being "just in time." On my guillotine cutter is WOYWWendy sporting my WOYWW button I forgot to show last week, along with a rocking horse (one of about 450, since some of you have asked), this one from my office.

Please join us, and PLEASE add your number (the one you got when you linked to Stamping Ground) when you visit. And thanks to all who visited last week, even though you thought my link came out of the UK. Not sure how it happened, but I can't predict Blogger's moods!

EDIT: Looks like it's really only WOYWW 147!

Lovely quilt, Elizabeth! I expect Bluebeard will want to lie on it before you give it away, though.

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I don't think of knitting or crochet projects in the same way as other projects - it doesn't worry me that they take so long, because the enjoyment is in the doing, and you can do them while watching TV, or just pick them up at odd moments, or even take them with you when you've got to sit in the car!

Happy WOYWW,

Wonderful Quilt you are making. 450 rocking horses. Wow. About your question about the copics. With them it does not matter if you stand them up or lay them down. they are fine either way. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello my dear friend. How the devil are you?

Sorry i didn't visit last week. Put it down to my lack of focus and organisation!!!

Anyway, looks like Wendy is on hand to keep you company and chat while you make the gift for your friend. I wondered if Wendy has been walking through your inks pads or paint. She certainly looks like she's been joining in somehow!

Why didn't I mention the number thing - you have lots of numbers on your blog. I find it so useful, saves a lot of messing about. Forgot about the short and sweet (evident in my post) too. Doh!
Love your art quilt and this week's horse.
Email me (button on my blog) and I will tell you how I did that post - schedule)
Don't forget I have candy - thanks for the snoop - Hugs, Neet #5

OK, you beat me to my page first so I'm guessing that means I don't have to leave you my number! lol I was hoping for an AB fix, lol, I'm seriously in need of one, guess I'll go stalk.....errrr...visit the classmates and see if they are doing a show and tell. Thank you for your words on my book btw, it really put a smile on my face! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

You must have way more patience than me to do all the stamping and then embroidering on the quilt. It's really effective and looks great - but I'm an instant gratification sorta gal.... know myself well :)

Wow, super piece of work there :) It's a flat screen TV in the far corner of my desk and the little thing like a mouse controls the speaker volumes as I have speakers and a 'woofer thingy' (that's under the desk) for when I listen to music. Am usually too engrossed to use it though :)) Di xx #16

Good morning Elizabeth and Bleubeard, thank you for your visit this week. We think that Flash had just been running round like a lunatic, as usual, and just pulled something, The vet checked him over very thoroughly and could not find anything in particular other than a little tenderness on his left hind leg. Anti-imflammatory injection and painkillers have restored him to his normal bouncy self. The vet did not bother to tell us to keep Flash quiet - he knows him of old. Quiet and working cocker spaniels do not go together. They are very high energy dogs, and can work all day in the field without tiring. Your quilt is lovely, but I was unsure what it will be used for as it is quite small. Is it for a baby? Have a great week. xx Maggie #7

That quilt is stunning!! I'm sure your friend will love it!

I have always wanted to have a go at 'freehand' machine quilting, but I need a sewing machine with a drop feed dog, and at the moment I just can't afford one, not even a second hand one! Maybe one day.

Thanks for sharing, and Happy WOYWW
