Inspiration Avenue; The Festive Tree Farm

My apologies for missing last week, but my internet connection was down and the posts that did publish were pre-planned. Luckily, I had planned ahead for days other than Friday, the day I post my Inspiration Avenue challenge each week. But I was truly unable to join last week, the first since I joined these challenges exactly 52 weeks ago. So I'll try to make up for it this week with a bit of festive fun and frolic as suggested by Maggie (Magpie).

Let's start this tale with some imagination. Let's pretend we're at a tree farm and the trees were given a propensity (and opportunity) for throwing a

Festive Tree Farm party. There'll be dancing, prancing, swaying in the breezes, and lots of decorations adorning the tree branches, as each Tree Farm tree attempts to outdo and out-party its neighbor.

This was imagined made on a piece of 8 inch X 12 inch X 1/2 inch maple that has been painted white, over which a crackle finish was applied. To make the trees (remember, I'm the one who doesn't draw or sketch), I used two tree shaped cookie cutters to paint/stamp on the outlines. The ones at the top of the panel were supposed to be smaller and were outlined using a small cookie cutter. But they became a little rowdy, then got completely out of hand, and now look as large as, or larger than, the large cookie cutter I used at the bottom of the panel. So much for perspective.

I must admit, it doesn't matter how out of shape they are, these trees are all festive and having a good time at the Festive Tree Farm. When they are tired of playing and partying, they can come and live with all my other trees I use to decorate my home each year.

Edit: As I was publishing this post, I lost all feed to my computer. I am at my friend Scott's and will be offline until I can figure out a way to get it back online. I have a few posts in draft, and will post them untikl I can get back online. Thanks for understanding if I don't visit this week.

Love the trees all decked out! I didn't have a chance to participate this week since I was trying to finish up some gifts I was making before my daughter gets home from college.

It's Friday, and I am stumped with this weeks challenge... panicked really!
I love what you have done with the 'help'
from those badly behaving cookie cutters.
Festive, light-hearted and fun!

The trees look so joyful, and do seem to be dancing! I love the whimsical quality :)

So sorry about your computer, and I hope it is fixed soon. I know how frustrating that can be.
