Limeade to celebrate the end of summer

Last week we saw the official calendar end of summer. It's now time to think about autumn, so this limeade makes a good transition drink between cool and warm tea time. It's been awhile since I've written a real letter to someone, and today, as days grow shorter and nights grow longer, is the day I plan to catch up on some real letter writing. So, while I'm drinking my limeade and writing a few notes to friends, please join Kimmie and the rest of my tea Tuesday buddies and catch up on what they are doing, too.

Limeade sounds refreshing...it is still a bit warm and sticky here too for a cup of hot anything...but those days are coming!

Handwritten notes are almost a thing of the past it seems...I must confess when I think of writing a letter to someone...I can type so much faster and correct mistakes...that said a handwritten note is priceless!

Happy T to ya Lady!

Sounds refreshing. I love to drink cherry limeade. Autumn is here officially but it is still so hot here, and dry. Nights are a bit cooler now and then but that's it.
I love writing 'real' letters, and used to do it often. I have one friend who still 'writes' to me and it is so nice to get her letters in the mail. So many of our post offices have closed in this area. I think it is a sad thing.

I love limeade. Your's looks so good. I also scrolled to your earlier post. I must say, you did a good job with your digital image. Yes, it is more difficult than cutting and pasting, I agree!

Your setting looks like a great invitation to do some letter writing. Your friends will be thrilled to get real mail I'm sure.

The dieing art of letter writing... it's a shame this generation won't have fabulous handwritten love notes or letters from friends or relatives to look back on.... just text messages and emails! :(
Limeade makes my mouth go all weird just thinking about it... like you sucked on a sour lemon or something.. maybe one day I will get to try yours... you never know!!

We're heading for a week of dry 90 degree weather here, hard to believe after the ridiculously bad summer, I mean, what is going on!! Limeade...ow..not jaw clenchingly sour then?

Hi Elizabeth, you are so good to write actual letters ! We of course all love to get them but rarely do I ever write them. Even replies to invitations now come enclosed with the invitation and all you do is tick a box if you are coming or not !! They are worried that the art of "hand writing" will disappear because all children know how to do is punch a keyboard these days. Good for you ! You have inspired me to write more. Have a great Tuesday. xx

handwritten notes....they're precious ....I just bought s fountain pen yesterday for sketching, but it reminded me of those days where I love collecting letter pads and writing letters and posting them with "real" stamps.....happy Tuesday!!

How funny that you would celebrate the end of summer. Here, we mourn it's passing :(

But it is fun to see pumpkins in the fields and the canadian geese flying south. The family wants soups and stews and pies and cobblers ..... I would like to keep barbecuing though!

I'm sorry I didn't make it around to say hello yesterday - Just laid around feeling crumy and sorry for myself :) - today is a much better day though! Happy Wednesday! xoxo, Kimmie

Glad you liked the tiles :) They're made from dried paint, the kind used in paint a pot places. I scrape the leftovers into a plastic tub, leave it to dry, then break it up into lumps or 'crumbles'. Paint a tile black (makes a great contrast) and lay your crumbles on it in any pattern you choose. This is then placed in the kiln as is and the kiln does the rest! Do you have a local paint a pot place where you could have a go? Thanks to Kelly over at 365tile-a-day on wordpress and facebook for the idea!
