August and September: 3/4 of this year is over

We are three quarters of the way through this year, and I am still here, plugging away at this journal. I know some people like Kate our fearless leader, really enjoy these little snippets, but I'm just no good at writing out or printing my thoughts in a couple of inches, especially when I can type to my heart's content over pages and pages of wordiness! My completed August journal pages are a good example.

To see them better, you can tell the entire month of August was spent talking about the extreme heat and the number of record breaking days in this month of record breakers,

as well as preparing for company or having company. That's a pretty big deal for me, since I seldom have company, much less overnight guests. The birds are my attempt to show that I had guests twice this month. My guest bedroom got quite a workout!

Here are my September pages all ready to be written on. Those little squares are beckoning me, even as I resist their tiny size. I'm sure Kate at The Kathryn Wheel will see the humor in that.

I love these little calendar pages - I would love to do one myself - just a bit slow to get round to it. Maybe make it a New Year's resolution. This year is flying by.

These calendar pages are really a great way to look at what you've accomplished. I think I could even manage to write every day if it were just a short statement.

you had a busy month...and each little square will bring back the memory (good or bad) of the sagas of the basement, heat and company! I applaud you for keeping up with this project, even with the challenging small size !

hear hear to Patty!! I can't write to save myself so this would have been just the thing for me, a few words a day, I could do that. I've so enjoyed this project and catching up with everyones pages, you hang in there, a year long challenge is a great achievement! Mx

Your August pages look wonderful and I love what you did with those birds. I do know what you mean about the tiny squares though, they are a challenge, but I think you did very well with them.
September really does look inviting. Hope you will have lots of fun with it!

Love August filled with black birds! We didn't really have a summer (as you could see by my calendar). You are lucky to have had all that sunshine. Now winter won't seem so long for you!

was yesterday the day that it would've broken the record then?

Cool. I'm really enjoying visiting these journals - such great variety in people's art, which is the spice of life :-) Hope it cools down soon - must be dire - we've had precious little summer here, but hey ho, we're used to it!! Have a great weekend :-)

love your background, and of-coarse the birds--my favorite.
It has been crazy hot here(Austin Texas) as well. I am so tired of it. We haven't had rain and I don't know how long.

Ooh I love your pages, especially the little birds. And I know what you mean about not having enough room to write - really I do! Hope it has cooled down a bit for you. Here in England, UK, we have the coolest summer for something like 30 years. I think you got our share of the sunshine! Well done for keeping up with the challenge so far - we are 8/12 complete, yay!
