Rusty goodness received from Halle

Last week I received my lovely Rust and White swap pages from Halle, the second in a set of pages from this group of six round robin players. I love rust!

LinkLinkHalle says when making these tip-ins, colors confuse her because there is no theme.

Ah, but there is a theme. It is the colors themselves. Aren't they lovely?

I also included the sign-in tag I got from Halle. I'm so in love with these fabric and paper pages and tag. That seems to be the theme of this go-round, since both Cath and Halle have chosen to include rusted fabric in the mix.

Finally, I was surprised that on Wednesday several people mentioned they didn't understand why the majority of the pages I make for scrappy journals are the same size (8.5 inches by 11 inches). I fold them in half after they have been sewn on both sides. I make a couple of smaller pages 8.5 inches by 5 or 6 inches that I add to each signature in each journal for a bit of variation. But because the binding method requires sewing, I learned after the first few I made that you can't really vary the page size too much, or the cover doesn't fit right in the end. And by making many pages ahead of time, I can choose the right images to go with the right journal. You need to understand, what I showed in that sack was an accumulation of about five months' work. It takes quite a long time to make enough pages for even a single journal. But thanks for asking and commenting about them.

Rust is beautiful... I saw a show on TV that had table tops made from rusty car hoods... They were phenomenal...

I had never thought of doing pages separately from the book. I primarily work with paper within the bindings of existing old books, but I am struck by the neatness and convenience of the concept of doing pages separately and re-binding. Hmmmm.
Love all that gorgeous rust on the tip-ins!
