The first images from a scrappy journal I made for Voodoo Vixen

Today I'm starting to show the scrappy journal I made for Annette (Voodoo Vixen). I realize I'm late getting this posted today, but better late than never, I say!

In my haste to get this journal out the door, along with the puzzle I made for Annette, I forgot to photograph the cover. You can tell this is not my camera, so it's obvious I stole "borrowed" this photo from Annette's blog.

Page one in the journal provides lots of room for thoughts using a gel pen or something similar.

Page 2 has paint chips, while page 3 is made up of scrapbook paper and two birds.

Page 4 is more scrapbook paper (two sided) with the little image that Annette can write her secret thoughts underneath. Page 5 is scrapbook paper and part of a paint chip over colored paper. I had intended to include a tag for this pocket, but it appears I didn't.

Page 6 continues with scrapbook paper over colored paper. Page 7 is more scrapbook paper, an image of a cat (picked specifically for Annette) and a piece of "lace" from my Martha Stewart (MS) punch.

Page 8 has a stenciled painted sticker, while page 9 has more of the MS punched lace and a small sticker.

This side, page 10, continues the punched lace, while page 11 is mostly plain other than a bird.

Page 12 has some scrapbook paper along with a fruit label and a picture of flowers. Page 13 shows some paint colors.

Page 14 also has paint colors, while page 14 has some scrapbook paper and a picture of vases on it. Page 15 is also translucent.

Page 16 is the logarithm side of the translucent paper, over which I added part of a map. Page 17 was picked just for Annette. It has scrapbook paper and rubber stamping for a vintage feel.

The other side of page 17 is pink, so page 18 carries on the theme of pink, maroon, and brown. Page 19 is scrapbook paper, over which I added the cat, which I picked specifically for Annette.

It wasn't hard for me to pick this as the middle page of the first set of signatures. Although I made this page long before I knew I would be sending it to Annette, I knew when I saw it, it would be perfect, since she has a birdcage collection. These are pages 20 and 21. Next time I show pages from this journal, I'll continue with the rest of the pages in this first signature. I hope you like these pages from this visual journal. I had fun making the various pages and putting the book together.

This album is so perfect for journaling. I love that you added plenty of space for the writing and the fact that you included that sweet little bird cage for Annette. Great!

Hi Elizabeth, the cover is wonderful :-) Lovely pages, I love the cat picture and the birdcage.
What I meant about THINKING the doll would be simple was, apart from having to sew the shoulders to the body, the pattern for the body was just 2 pieces and the head was 2 pieces as opposed to 4 pieces for most of the dolls I've made. I'm so glad I had sewn up the body of mine the day before to iron out any problems!

I'll bet Annette is thrilled with her journal. I like all the pages but the last picture with the bird cage looks so sunny and bright that it is my favorite at the moment.

Wonderful journal! I love a page of dark paper to write on with a white pen and the way you broke up the pages with stitching, beautifully done.

I'm always so amazed at all the layers of detail, color and texture you incorporate into your pages- these are wonderful, my favorite is the cat of course :) I wish I could sew, the stitching adds such a nice element to these.
