Birthday Tea

What are all these goodies doing in a Tea Tuesday post?

Thy are gifts from friends around the world who have blessed me with birthday wishes. Last week Julia in England sent something, and this week I got gifts from Annette at Scrap Happens Here, whose gifts from Canada are on the left, and Gayle from Bliss and Gesso, whose gifts from Australia are on the right. You can see that Gayle's package just arrived in time for me to share the tea and other goodies that came in it.

I actually received Annette's package late last week, and put everything away except the birthday gift she sent, which I said I wouldn't open until my birthday. Since I am celebrating my birthday a few days early (it's actually not until EARTH DAY, which is Friday) with my Tea Tuesday friends, I decided to open the gift today and found all kinds of wonderful rubber stamps that I will be able to use in my art journals. Along with the wonderful stamps, she sent two different varieties of Hibiscus tea, the box it goes in, and "servettes," or, as I call them: decorative napkins. Thank you beyond belief Annette. And I think today made a great day to open your gift to me.

Gayle not only sent tea, or T2 tea, called Brisbane Breakfast which has a touch of mango, she also sent TimTams and Fru-Choes. Apparently TimTams are, according to Gayle, "iconic Australian chocolate biscuits," while Fru-Choes are "made just down the road" from where Gayle lives. What a colorful and intensely personal gift. And speaking of personal gifts, I adore the memory book Gayle made me. It is really such a wonderful and thoughtful gift, whether it was intended for my birthday or not.

So what will I be drinking today? I think I'll start with a cup of Hibiscus tea followed by a cup of T2 with the mango. Whatever I drink, it will be because these lovely ladies were caring enough to think of me.

And of course, I'll be visiting Kimmie, keeper of the links, as well as the other Tea Tuesday participants, too. Hope you will join her, too.

what?!?!
Friday is your birthday?
gah.
Now what the heck.
I have to know about birthdays on PayDay. Never on days where I have spent all of my husband's money on other stuff. PAy Day.
I imagine everyone else feels the same way. So, the real way to get a birthday haul is to mention your birthday Really Early and then
keep reminding everyone in subtle ways.

Like this:
I'll tell you right now:
My BIRThday is SePTEMBER 18.
everyone go write that down.

Basically what I'll do from here is bring that up every few days until the fall.

Then I will Stop bringing it up and start being really nice to everyone and taking time for my friends again.

Jeez, so much to teach the world...

so little time.

Ah what a lovely post, a great reason to open a gift Elizabeth...I wish I'd known it was your birthday this week! I had my own gift at the weekend - your OWOH artwork arrived last week and got accidentally seperated into the pile of business post which for one reason and another I had neglected until Saturday - what a marvellous surprise, thanks so much, I love it.

Hi Elizabeth, you know I,m always the last one for tea, you gals are having tea while I am in bed. It's Wednesday morning here now, so I'm having a morning cuppa with you . How is the tea with the mango, I have not tried it, I'm not a fan of sweet, fruity, flowery tea, but i thought it sounded interesting. I hope you have a lovely birthday on Friday. xx
