Snow day tea companion

It's truly snowing. Big fat fluffy flakes that don't show up well on camera. The snow has finally left Colorado and is now here. It will be here for the next 12 hours, if I am to believe the weather channel. They are predicting 12 inches.

Although you can't see the snow well, if you look on the right side of the photo above (you will probably have to enlarge it), you can see the flakes in front of the tree and gray house. They are HUGE, honestly. I'm sure the entire scene in my front yard will change again, as the snow continues to fall today.

Now I've been excited for over a week about this latest addition I found at my local thrift store. I love it. I call it a "companion," because I have the pot and the cup all in one (I'm not sure what it's really called). I have already poured the boiling water into the pot, which is now heating the cup below.

I am paring it with Bai MuDan which contains pomegranate. It produces a very pale and slightly pink color and has a wonderful aroma. It is a favorite, but I had forgotten all about it, until I ran across it yesterday looking for something else. It's time to fill the little "spoon" infuser, and

pour the hot water into the cup. The tea pot holds just enough water for a generous cup of steaming tea, the perfect compliment to this cold, snowy day.

I love anything to do with pomegranate and that tea pot and cup are lovely. I think I'd like to try the Tuesday Teas for next week. My parents have a place in Co. and they keep telling me it's way too cold for them. I wish we had colder weather here in So. Cal.

Oh snow! I thought we were all over that already! Hope the 12" doesn't come into reality and if it does, hope for a bright suny day tomorrow to melt it all away! HumbuG!
Your 'Tea for One' set is sweet - they're sold quite widely over here; I bet you could see on eon the Whittards website. Do you withdraw the infuser or leave it in the water until all the drink is finished? See, I don't drink it so am very tea ignorant.

Cute little tea pot and cup. I hope you are staying warm up there with all that snow. I heard of huge snowflakes in Maine before and I guess they can get big anywhere. Snow got close to us, but we just got lots of ice. Happy tea day.

I saw that Wichita was getting 12 inches today ..... yowza! I hope you don't have to be anywhere .... but if you do, maybe you could hitch a ride with that neighbor tooling around in his vintage VW :)

Your tea looks perfect for a day like this one! stay safe, warm and dry - ok?!!!

I am having tea with you right now. Okay?
Elizabeth, it snowed here too! (you know what that means about hell, right? yep. frozen.)
In fact, it snowed TWICE here this year. I could have done snow dyeing but I didn't think of it until ten minutes after the snow had stopped and melted all away. Because it's the south, silly.
But, guess what?
Yep. Storm tonight.
Weird huh?
Apocalypse.
I'm just sayin'.
Xx,
Amy

I've finished my errands for the day and have a nice cup of tea within easy reach. There's nothing like watching it snow (it's snowing here now), when everyone you know and love is safe and warm inside. Enjoy the storm and stay safe! Hugs, Terri xoxoxo

I have to believe you're getting pretty sick of snow by now! Have your workmen been able to get to your house to get the basement repairs done, or are you having to wait for the big thaw! I'll bet you'll be happy to see spring!

I believe you about the snow...I've also tried to capture snow falling and it seems more difficult than it should at times.
I love the "companion" tea set. Hope you've had a wonderful day...despite the snow.

To get good pics of snow you need it to be twilight and have a light on in the background... I know!! I spent an hour yesterday shovelling snow from the driveway and path... yuk, roll on spring! Love those little teapots with the cup sitting underneath, so cute! I'm a lazy all day, every day tea drinker... the teabag sort that goes in the cup! I know, sacrilege, but i do remember to kink my pinky so hopefully that will stop me being kicked out of the tea convention!!
Hope the snow has stopped and you are warm indoors and that Bleubeard is snuggled up next to some heater!!

Here in Tennessee we have about had our fill of snow this year! it has been a doozy for us. It sure is pretty and if it would fall and disappear by morning I would be all about it ;-)
I have never had that particular tea before and the pale color is really nice.
Thank you for your wonderful welcome to Tea on Tuesday, I think I will have to make it official next week! Enjoy the tea and the white stuff.

I guess I shouldn't complain about our current cold spell... although, a little snow might be fun. I'm going to have to try that tea. I have some green tea with pomegranate and I like it very much.

Enjoy your tea! We aren't getting snow right now but it is negative eleven degrees wind chill. Curling up with a snuggly blanket.

Oh, I have been there. We are actually enjoying a SNOW free week. I never thought I would be happy about that - but my mind is drifting toward springtime greens and flowers. Enjoy staying snuggled inside and sipping that delicious tea! Theresa

Glad to hear you're not buried under snow, but then it would be just the reason to keep crafting! My sis sent me chocolates so I stamped an image of a box of chocolates and colored it in for the card in Tuesdays post. (did I answer ur question?) yes that is a little Rolodex. I bought it for a song and thought I'd alter it somehow. The little cube-y thing with the turtle on top is a perennial calendar, of sorts. You can change the two cubes to read the date and they sit on a little rectangle of wood that has a changeable month. I welcome the questions! Have a nice WOYWW. Love your new tea pot!

Hang in there - Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring. I can't wait! It's 20 degrees here in New Freedom PA. My studio is in the garage, I think my paints are frozen! If spring dosen't come soon - there's going to be some groundhog hunting!
