WOYWW 81: Manic mode

If this is your first time visiting my blog, WOYWW stands for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and it has become the popular hit started in the UK and going strong for 81 weeks in a row. Please visit Julia at Stamping Ground, take a photo of your mess desk or workspace, link up, and let people snoop at your place, too. I saved these LARGE, so click on the photos to see everything you will miss if you don't.

For all you UK visitors, I sincerely hope you are not snowed in. Send some my way. It's been 36 days since we've had any precipitation.

On my desk are a few art quilts or quiltlets in various stages of completion. These are all Christmas gifts which must be ready in two days, except the one in the back which will head for Canada in a few days or weeks or ??? That means I'm in manic mode, trying to get these gifts finished in time to pass them out on Christmas eve or day.

These are the most complete of the six I am working on. These need backs and embellishments, then will be ready to go.

But I don't delude myself. I know you really came to see a few of my over 450 rocking horses. The two on my gesso jar are brass ornaments for a tree, and the one leaning against the gesso is a stained glass tree ornament, too.

Let's zoom in a bit to see the Rocking Reindeer. Yes, Annette, this is a reindeer and from counting the "points" on the antlers, it is a six point buck!

OOPS, not that close. But while you are looking, you might as well cast your eyes on this lovely card I received from Jude of Crafts International. I won a prize from her, the UK people call "blog candy." And it was a sweet gift, along with this drop dead gorgeous card I'm keeping around for inspiration. There's so much to see and appreciate in this card, I don't know where to begin. But it was made just for ME, and I'm totally impressed. Thank you, Jude from the bottom of my heart!

One final picture today. I combined my love of trees with my love of rocking horses. When a few of the embellishments fell off this hand made tree, I added 8 rocking horses, several of which are on the back side of the tree.

Today, I would be remiss if I didn't honor Jude for the lovely card she made, as well as all the gifts she sent me. She really hit this one out of the ballpark, because this card is my style. It pays to visit her because she often has blog candy during a WOYWW visit. See, the first person who visited didn't return to claim her/his prize, and she redrew my name. If you like the looks of this card, you will love her style. So be sure to check out Crafts International and say hi to Jude today.

And because this is the last WOYWW before Christmas, I want to wish each and every one of you, my dear WOYWW friends, a very Merry Christmas. I hope it is safe, joyous, stress free, family oriented, and filled with all things that warm your heart. I'll be around sometime today or after Friday to visit you.

I love your padded Christmas tree with all those dear little rocking horses on it and the Rocking Reindeer really is something!
I think your collection is such a brilliant one... I don't know that I've seen that many rocking horses in this country, or have you really had to search for them over there? Whatever the case, they're wonderful!
Have a blessed Christmas!

Happy Crimbo to your and Bleubeard.

Love that proud reindeer of yours - he is so majestic stood there. Those rocking horses on the padded tree look great - are they very very tiny? Good luck with the gifts - hope you finish on time (know what you mean about being rushed).

And a Happy Christmas to you and Bleubeard.

I've really enjoyed reading your blog since I found it this year; you have so many interesting things to show and discuss, and I appreciate all the time and effort you must put in to posting so many diverse blog items.

The quilts are reminding me of my mum doing a lot of dressmaking when I was tiny. Loving the rocking horse tree too.

Love your quilting - that is one hobby I dipped into but never followed through far enough to complete anything. Maybe I will have another go after Christmas, together with all the hundreds of other hobbies I really fancy trying. There are not enough hours in a day for someone like me who collects hobbies. I just love trying new things, just to see....
Have a lovely Christmas

Those quilts are looking good, sewing projects take up so much more time than paper ones I often find. But they will be so worth the effort.
Have a good Christmas with Bleubeard, your padded tree and rocking horses.

You, Bluebeard and family have a great Christmas. I haven't checked today's weather, so don't know how Dorothy is doing in Kansas, LOL.
