What's on your workdesk Wednesday # 80

Before I begin my rant, I want to remind everyone why we're here today. It's WOYWW, the brainchild of Julia at Stamping Ground. She has the links and the info, so please join us, if you like to snoop at people's work spaces and desks.

Now for my rant. Blogger hates me. For several days, I was unable to leave comments on any Blogger blog that displayed comments like this. It appeared even my blog was affected. I could leave them when the little box next to "comments:" had my name (Bleubeard and Elizabeth) showing, but not on the ones with an empty box. So I am now off my soapbox, but still mad at Blogger.

On my desk this week are my completed tip-ins, most of which have been mailed. My cards, which have NOT been signed or addressed, are slow going. I finished stamping them about an hour ago.

The gold and copper rocking horse is ceramic and was a gift from my friend Kathy. She hand painted it, then remarked how similar it was to one I owned (on the right), but had purchased.

Several of you wanted to know where Bleubeard was last week. Well, this week it's pretty obvious. He's in front of the heater in my craft room!

On my sewing machine is the backing for one of my art quilts. It's made of several layers of dress makers paper. I'm super impressed by the technique. And on my cutter is my first quiltlet I'm in the process of making for Christmas, along with some images I printed on fabric. You can see I've already used one.

I've had no time to find a blog today, so I'll have one later today when I show Day 15 of my tree shaped Advent Calendar made from jewelry boxes. Have a lovely WOYWW everyone, and keep your fingers crossed that blogger is on its best behavior today.

Do you think Blogger is suffering from the Wikileaks stuff that is going around? I don't have a problem and sincerely hope it stays that way! Love your little rocking horses today, Kathy is brilliant!! Your sewing looks like fun but I am still too scared to try paper in the brand new sewing machine... another technique that will have to wait till I get back home!!

I switched to Google Chrome sin the summer on Chrissie's recommendation and that has cut alot of my blog commenting trouble out. Not all, but am less frustrated and do less clicking. But there were still a few blogs that I simply cannot write on!
How sweet the hand-painted rocking horse, I love coincidences of style in a collection, really adds to the story. The dress pattern paper is a great idea, in many layers it has an incredible feel and texture and actually, some integrity - I've been known to cut multi layered flowers from it. Bleubeard knows the place to be. Seriously, this morning am considering returning to bed for half an hour; the heating doesn't come on for another half hour and for some reason, the cold isn't motivating this morning!!

What a bummer about not being able to leave comments when you've taken the trouble to visit and try!
Like Julia says, I use Google Chrome and love it compared to any other browser I've tried. Give it a go, it may just help!
Sensible cat staying near the heater!

I am mad at blogger too! A lot of "features" still don't work and I have had problems leaving comments as well. There, I ranted with you! Love your desk, kiss Bluebeard for me. Happy WOYWW! #5

The paper quilt looks fabulous, and I imagine that the texture is great to work with; it looks scrunchy and puffy in the picture. Hope Blogger behaves for you. Good to see Bleubeard toasting his fur - hope he is full of purr.

I spotted the rocking horses in the first picture and thought how cute they looked, they look even cuter close up. Bluebeard looks comfy by the fire.

Hi Elizabeth (and Bleubeard). Clever cat staying by the heater. Have had trouble inserting a photo with Blogger this arvo...still not done either! Didn't have any trouble leaving comments...just got a little annoyed with word verification and those who hadn't linked directly to their post.
Looks like you have been very busy!

Hi Elizabeth. You always have some really fab/different crafting to share with us. I have lots of old dress patterns that I'm never likely to use again so may have a play with some when I've got time.
If you fancy being in with a chance to win a little knitted Christmas bear and haven't already put your name down then pop over to my blog to be in with a chance :-)

I got you a little tin tree decoration in Germany too to add to your collection but it will probably be late arriving as I've not been able to get to the post office... weather, hols aways, sick etc!!! LIFE in other words!
Take care

I'm starting to feel really guilty about my desk now! Yours is so NEAT!

I'm #85 on WOYWW this week. Stop by when you get a chance!

Happy Holidays to you.

Can’t say I blame Bleubeard for sitting right by the heater and Bo Jangles thinks he has the right idea too! My boy doesn’t move from beside the radiator unless I head for the kitchen and he thinks that food might be in the offing Lol!

Can’t say that I’ve heard of art quilts before, so will have to check them out but yours looks very intriguing, especially as dress pattern paper is so thin. It must be a nightmare to work with.

I hate Blogger with a passion!! Nuff said! Love the cards and paper sewing and Bluebeard has certainly got the right idea, it's been excruciatingly cold in Michigan with the wind chills putting us at -15F.

Are you paper piecing? Nice little quilt. Bleubeard really appreciates that heater. You are not alone in not being able to leave comments. I just love the word verification ones, especially when they don't give you a word to verify. What say??? #79

If this is a sample your art quilt is going to be amazing. I'm knocked sideways by all you accomplish.

Had to check and it seems I'm using Google Chrome too but I sometimes have trouble uploading photographs so all is not perfect. More cute rocking horses - love the one your friend painted for you. Bluebeard has the right idea hogging the heat. A question for you - what are tip-ins, I don't think I have ever heard this expression before?

Bleubeard is a sensible cat! I want to curl up by a heater too! Blogger has the ability to drive most of us to distraction at various points so I can completely sympathise. I love all your artwork..so different and unique. Caro (#58)

Hi - stamped cards look great! Don't blame Bleubeard - in front of the fire is the right place to be over here too..it's snowing outside!Didn't get round to doing a WOYWW post myself this week - been sick from work which I would of thought would of given me more time but felt decidedly unmotivated - thought I'd just try and visit instead...(still enjoying your advent posts)Happy WOYWW, Esther xx

I like your quilt and mini quilt. Sewing pattern paper is lovely stuff..I especially like the brown tinted paper .. as you were using.

I have also encountered a similar annoying problem with blogger. I just go through the prompts and eventually am able to post comments and it happened like you said to my 'own'...so maddening.

Glad Bleubeard is keeping warm.
