Wednesday crafting???

Yesterday, while all my fellow WOYWWers were leaving lovely comments of concern for Bleubeard, I was busy in my craft room and no where near my computer. I made a big dent in my to-do list, but mostly it was things I can't show.

First, I spent an insane amount of time playing around with glue and confetti.

I can't show the finished project, but suffice it to say, my craft room floor was already filling up.

Next, I tackled my Teal Dreams cover with the help of a little gift my dear friend Jackie Smith sent me.

Somehow it never occurred to me to use a triangle on the corners until I opened the box and the "flap" solution hit me in the face! No need for a pattern when I had the perfect template in front of me. Thankfully, the person who this is for doesn't read my blog, so I don't have to worry there.

Next, I cut the angles, then sewed the flap, remembering to enclose the strap inside, too. What progress! Now I just have to sew in the signatures. That is on my list today. I had to sew the cover so I would have room for the deli papers

that I have hidden under the sheet music I used under the papers. Again, I can't show any of this. Makes for a boring post, but I got a LOT accomplished. And, I even stamped, yep you read correctly, stamped some ribbon, cut out some images (there's something to say for die cuts, which I'm sure would have been faster, but unfortunately I don't have any dies), and colored said images.

And on the Bleubeard front, I don't think he feels as bad as he looks in this very out of focus shot I took shortly after midnight, but the good news is, I only cleaned up after him once yesterday. I truly hope and believe that's a big improvement.

If you are a frequent reader of my blog, you know I like to feature men who blog. When I ran across Man Made DIY, I had to check it out. Whether you're looking for a good food or drink recipe, a modern design for your Thanksgiving table, how to create a stipple portrait, or seeing some photos of canned food structures, you will enjoy this blog. My only complaint is you have to click on the post to read further. I know it's a space saver on your main page, but it's annoying to have to go to a new page to see the rest of an article. Makes me think I'm reading a newspaper. However, you should at least check out Man Made DIY today. It's an eclectic mix of varied and random posts from a man's point of view.

Hi Elizabeth, re: 'Santa Tags' firstly I must apologize for the confusion my last sentence caused. When I said stamps, I was referring to the snowflake and Santa stamp in that particular tag, but when I re-read it after your comment I realized it looked as though I meant both Santa Stamps where Tim Holtz stamps; they're not. I can't remember which company produced the other one, but initially I saw it as a wood mounted stamp, but didn't want to pay the price. Eventually however it became available as an unmounted stamp and I got it as part of a set for a bargain price! The company the set of stamps was from is Habico, but I know they didn't release the stamp when it was wood mounted.
I'm loving your teal book cover and can't wait to see it and more of your pages once complete.
Poor Bleubeard, he does look sorry for himself; so glad he appears to be on the mend.
As an aside I don't have any pets now, but my last cat died at the very ripe old age of approx 21 (can't quite decide how old DD was when we got her)

Wow, what a busy Bee you have been... and did you deliverately squeeze the glue in to number 2 shapes as in for a reason or did they all come out like that accidentally? So glad Bleubeard's tummy is behaving better, hopefully he will be back to his normal self very soon!!
