WOYWW # 71: Finished ATCs

I have to admit. I was only planning to visit those persons who left me a comment and a few of my "peeps." But I got so many comments (over 100 last week), that I quickly lost count and ended up visiting everyone again for the 9th week in a row. I was simply overwhelmed by everyone's comments. I want to thank each of you, with special thanks to Nikki for creating that button you see on my sidebar. Who knows what number I'll be this week, but Julia at the Stamping Ground, keeper of the links, asks us to include our linky # with our comments.

EDIT: I am unable to leave comments. I keep clicking on comments and they don't display. When I do get a comment box, I keep getting a 503 error, so I will have to get back to everyone later for a proper snoop!

As for the photos, most everyone wanted the bigger photos. Seems like you are a really snoopy bunch (grin)! There were a few other comments, though. Annette (Voodoo Vixen) and Linda Elbourne preferred a mix of large and small, while Susan Allan wanted them small. Both Cath in Cypress and Alicia R aren't sure about the size.

I think part of the problem is, you have to click on the photos. Normally, your photos would ENLARGE when you click on them. Mine actually get smaller and fit on the screen. They get a bit larger than regular size, then enlarge to a still manageable size when you double click. This happens only when I save them off site. Ones saved on my computer are "normal."

So, with the above peeps suggestion in mind, here is what is on my Wednesday table.

In the first photo, you can see my coffee mug in the back, along with the music box rocking horse that WOYWWendy really wants to ride. A bag of eyelets and my Crop-a-dile are seeing a bit of action as I finish these cards I started last week. This a GEOMETRIC ATC swap, and I have two of them completed. Certainly not my normal style, but this swap really stumped me.

To the left of the glue, barely out of camera range is my first ever ATC that I stamped. I'm offering a sneak peek, so come back tomorrow if you want to see the project. Did I mention I stamped this one? I mean completely stamped. And that, dear friends, is something I attribute to the influence of all my new found WOYWW stamping friends.

I waited to show you the third one before I assembled it. The book pages are the ones I painted last week, as are the painted strips. Each ATC set got two identical pieces that I sewed to their backs. One is a geometric shape that I tried to make more abstract, but those ATCs are SO dang tiny, I ran out of "canvas" before I ran out of painted strips. It has a plain card on the back, while the house has my ATC information.

Guess I should show the rocking horse. For those of you new this week, I show one or more of my over 450 rocking horses each week.

You can really see the finished product in this photo. I attached the two cards, then twisted to loosen the eyelet just a bit. I have left these ATCs in three different views and positions.

And here it is much smaller and saved at a much lower resolution. Thanks for sticking around while I rambled. What do you expect? It's late night in my world and the music box is winding down.

For the first time since I joined WOYWW, I am featuring an artist who is not a WOYWWer. I "met" Darla who signs her posts "See you there," at her blog Bay Side to Mountain Side during another blog hop just a few weeks ago. Her art is mostly made using found objects and her sketchy ladies and sketchy chickens will have you amazed at her creativity. In addition to art and recipes, she does book reviews, too.

Darla is also having a 1000th post giveaway on her blog. In keeping with my "no commitment" giveaway policy, all you have to do is leave a comment for a chance to win a lovely commissioned handmade necklace personalized for the winner. She makes it clear: international players are welcome, too. This is the direct link, but you will love her blog so much you'll want to stay awhile.
Hope to "see you there!"

It seems to me dear gal that for you - there is really no 'outside of the box' - because you're so ready to try anything and it always works - I love the ATCS, the thought of the odd geometric shape coming together to make a house - brilliant. Am excited about you stamping a whole ATC! I see a bid is part of the deal, and oh yeah, I'll be back for sure!

Thanks so much for featuring my blog Elizabeth. I truly consider that a great compliment. Some of your art pals have already shown up there.

I really like your ATC's. Art challenges provide an opportunity to stretch our talents don't they? I haven't made any ATC's for ages and think maybe it is time to give it another try.

I wish I had time to visit everyone. Sometimes I just use the time I have and start at the bottom (which is where I usually am) and just work up from my linky, because these people are late like me (and we late-comers can't expect a lot of comments.. hee hee.) But....I usually jump out of line to see what you're up to. Love your little houses. Have a happy WOYWW!

Hello Elizabeth! Thanks for stopping by my blog again this week. Your comment had Mr B and me scratching our heads - the white things on the second shelf to the left. Took us a while to work it out but I think you mean the second shelf of the wire spice rack to the left of my desk. Those white things, my dear, are pots of embossing powders in a multitude of hues and shades..... Love your ATCS! Hugs to Bleubeard....

Afternoon Elizabeth! and a huge smooth for the lovely Bleubeard!! See, I managed to type his name correctly this time! Its automatic... my fingers go to all the blue letters without my brain engaging at all and to make them stop and reverse the two vowels.... well, its hard!! LOL
Love your geometric ATC's, they are beautiful and you have out one of my fav tools - the crop-a-dile. WOYWWendy looks like she may be a gonna under a certain rocking horse...

Hey #2!How you been! I wish I had more time to get around and leave comments too but your record is just amazing! Where in the world do you display 450 of your beloved rocking horses? OH MY! I am like that with Dept 56 Snowbabies...a little snowman collectible. Enjoy your week. fun ATC's too!

Unknown said...

Hi Elizabeth - who'd have thought that you weren't really into ATC's - you seem to have done a pretty good job to me!!! I love the button Nikki did for you - quite appropriate really LOL...

The photo thing is getting rather confusing. I usually reduce the size of mine so they upload better, but my latest post, i haven't bothered, but i don't think they want to go big when you click on them - although not 100% sure! It changes everytime i post - or rather it appears to - and i don't think my meds are that bad...

Just shows that size does matter (tee hee)...
