The weather has turned a bit cooler and is the coolest it has been since May 8. I decided to grab my Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng today to sip while enjoying the view from my front porch. I bought this tea I've never had before, for the lovely images on the can, which I plan to take the tin snips to as soon as the tea is gone. Something caught my eye as I was sitting the tea onto the little table on my front porch.
I knew there had been a lot of activity at my neighbor's yesterday, since I could hear the noise. It seems some of the dirt from their broken sewer problem has landed in my front yard.
I watched for awhile late last night as the owners called in a backhoe, a generator, and a front loader, and dug the hole that now resembles a crime scene. Using a powerful spotlight, they further dug by hand. It was well after midnight and the workers were still there, generator and diggers breaking the silence of the night, when I finally left my craft room and headed upstairs. Imagine my surprise when I decided this was the place to enjoy my tea today. That big mound to the left front of the photo is in my yard, as is the one on the far right, with all the tree roots in it.
I decided this was not a place of respite, so I took my cup and still unopened can of tea back inside, where I am now in the process of drinking my tea and uploading my photos for the world to see. I will be working in my craft room most of the day so hopefully all the heavy machines have completed their task and I will get my property back the way it was before this eyesore and ear splitting noise hit my yard.To find some serene and far more beautiful tea spots today, please join Kimmie and the other participants, whose sites are listed on Kimmie's sidebar.

good news that it's finally fit to be outside and I have rescued some of those pretty cans for cutting apart too ;)

Goodness don't think I've ever come across tea in a can before..on first reading I thought you had a tin with tea leaves in and wondered how many cups a day you would drink in order to get the tin clippers to it soon enough! Now I realise you've probably done it already...I've been on coffee as usual today while packing for our hols - flying off to Cyprus early in the morning so will miss WOYWW - twice, as don't get back til next Thursday! Looking forward to some sunshine as it pretty dismal here! have a good week, Esther xx
It sounds like your neighbors were in the midst of some sort of emergency - especially if it concerned the sewer! lucky for you to simply be a bystander! I'm glad it has cooled down for you - enjoy your front porch on a day like this!

What a shame your plans were foiled - not in a crafty way though LOL The can does look lovely, love the colour.
Car boot sales - possibly people did sell directly from their car boots initially; not really sure; but now people use tables to hold their stuff :-)

Crime scene...I´ll say!!! Where did they ever come away with thinking they could upload ALL that dirt in your yard? I mean, I hope they are over there today "redistributing" ELSEWHERE:) I can´t let my husband see these fotos of the crime scene....he´d freak:) I have one question for you....did the guys who worked there half into the night FIX THE PROBLEM atleast????
Shame about the crime scene but when it's all sorted you can try again with that gorgeous tea caddy. Spotted the wooden rocking horse too, I love the wooden ones. I would be so relieved to have the cooler weather, I just don't like it when it's too warm, I would rather have Spring and Autumn. Have a lovely evening, Tracy Evans x

Oh, the porch; I would so love a porch. Gawd, sorry about the state you found your garden in - presumably they'll 'restore' without question, huh? I'd have brought the tea for the same reason - the canister is really pretty - but I kinda wouldn't have got around to actually using the tea. For a Brit, unusually, I can live without tea.

Oh what a mess, and to not tell you they did it! Poop heads I say! Hope that you enjoyed the mellow time in the craft room and got to meditate a bit! Glad that it is cool, Christen

I too love the look of your Arizona Green Tea can, it looks like something the company Papaya would make ( they are on the side bar of my blog if you would like to check out their web.) Your work room and drawers look WAY too tidy, I wish I was so neat. Not so your yard tho; hope it is back to normal soon. xx
