More Hands for my Hands AB

I'm really loving using all these hand images. I may actually have this book finished soon, now that I'm sewing many together that I would never have considered putting together before.

For the left (this is an inside folio), I used a magazine image over a page from a pocket book of hand gestures. I sewed it to the background page, turning it into a pocket. I then added a hair pin for texture, and a masked and stamped image in the sewn box left from the back side.

For the right, I used a very old dictionary page. It actually crumbled when I sewed it, so had to repair it by adding a stamped image. The other images are from a magazine and the hand gestures book.
For the left, I used magazine images and some S&H Green stamps.

On the right, I used more magazine images, a sentiment, and a piece of a map. All I have to say is, this is FUN.

I was recently contacted by Yvonne at These Magical Years, a blog that features tutorials. Today my Metal Book Tutorial is being featured on her blog. For that, I am grateful to her and am making These Magical Years my blog of the day. She features lots of tutorials on her blog, many of which will appeal to parents, cooks, and people who sew. I hope you will give her blog a look and maybe even find a tutorial that sparks your interest.

Speaking of tutorials, if you want to see more of mine, they are on a separate page, which you can access through the link directly under my blog header. You will also find past daily blog links by date on another page, and my previous collaborations on yet another page. Have a great Monday, everyone.

LOVE your pages, Elizabeth! Isn't it just so fun to just start collaging and getting lost in it?! Thanks for putting your tutorials up for access!

Fantastic progress on the book Elizabeth - love the page with the mushroom-y thing - did you make your sewing look like a bracelet on purpose, or was that a happy accident? :)

Congrats on the exposure with your tutorial. I went and took a look - fun blog too.

Cindy :)

Wonderful new pages here Elizabeth- collage work is so fun and I think liberating. You can get lost in it for hours- these are beautifully expressive and I love the stitching element that you have incorporated! Thanks for dropping by my blog- have a great week!

I do love your hand collaged journal. Some of the items you have added bring back memories, like the green stamps. I also like the newspaper which you have incorporated. This journal could be a nice "study" of hands for sculptors and artists alike.

I really adore the combination of images that you've been using...perhaps the sewing is giving a different perspective than gluing...love the results!
