Silent Sunday's blog

In keeping with Earth friendly blogs and web sites my choice for today belongs to Inhabitat.com. I love their motto: "Green design is good design. Good design is green design."

Read the beginning of their mission statement, quoted here:

Inhabitat.com is a weblog devoted to the future of design, tracking the innovations in technology, practices and materials that are pushing architecture and home design towards a smarter and more sustainable future.

With an interest in design innovations that enhance sustainability, efficiency, and interactivity in the home, Inhabitat’s attention is focused on objects and spaces that are eco-friendly, multi-purpose, modular, and/or interactive. We believe that good design balances substance with style.
They go on to point out that little has changed in the way of design and that most design still misses the point. They basically say what I learned in college: form follows function. Please check out their site and learn a bit about what is truly new and earth friendly in the way of design and technology. You'll be glad you spent a bit of time on their site, because they feature the latest and greatest innovations that can actually make a difference in the world.

Happy Easter - what beautiful eggs.
The birds' nests smelled very strong when I opened the boxes - very earthy & musty - they are beautiful. One has been made from what could be lint - it also looks like it could be a cushion filler - very cosy. I love seeing the dog hairs in the nests - at least they have been put to some use !
I have heard that you can spin & knit with dog hair - & it doesn't smell like wet dog when you wash the garment ( doesn't appeal to me somehow ! )

I just subscribed to inhabitat.com after viewing their site. I got lost there for awhile reading some of the interesting articles such as the bee hotel in the UK. Thanks so much for recommending.
