I made this quiltlet to hang on my porch for Independence Day. I used a small flag, star patterned material, and two colors of twill. The back has grosgrain ribbon as an accent, so I made the hangers of the same ribbon. I aged the ribbon using linen distress ink.
The message reads:

peace, for he must suffer and bear
the deepest wounds and scars of war.

The quiltlet is now hanging with the help of a tree branch from my yard. Haere's to a wonderful Independence day for all US residents and a glorious Saturday for the rest of the world.

Wonderful little quiltie! and your hand spreads are really inventive...I like the variety of techniques and images that you utilize...buttons are a favorite of mine, and how can you sew on a button but with your hands?
