Eat, drink, be merry: a tribute

I made this page in my altered recipe book for several reasons. When I first contemplated it, I was going to submit it to UHU glue for their Earth Day event. It is made from all recycled materials, beginning with the mini wallpaper border that you used to be able to get at Lowes, to the food gift card I picked up one time at HomeTown Buffet, to the magazine words from various recipes. Also, I used only UHU's Twist and Glue for this project, so people could see its vast potential from gluing thin magazine images all the way to the heavy gift card I would normally attach with E6000. No need to get out all those glues when one will do.

As I was making the spread, waves of grief came over me because my dearly departed friend George used to take Billie, his daughter and her husband, and me to breakfast at Hometown Buffet on some Sundays. The spread had now become a tribute to George, his love of good food and drink, and his memory.

This is not just another page to fill in my altered recipe book, but a "hats off" to UHU glue and (possibly more importantly) a tribute to George.

Don't you love it when you muse takes over and a piece becomes so special to you? Nice work and a nice tribute Elizabeth. :)

What a great tribute to your friend. So glad to read how you are dealing with your loss.

I never realized how versatile this glue is.
